USAID has established the ESCB Flexible Response Mechanism to be able to quickly respond to emerging energy sector needs.
Under this mechanism, ESCB is installing solar power at two demonstration sites, one at the Ministry of Planning and International Cooperation and one at the Jordan Customs Department. These will serve as sites for educational visits, and include a dashboard showing energy savings through the adoption of solar power. The contractors implementing these two demonstrations projects are Kawar Energy and ETA-Max.
ESCB is also working with Mercy Corps to determine the impact of a solar water heaters for 75 rural households in five communities.
ESCB is supporting the Greater Amman Municipality on developing a waste-to-energy tender for Amman.
